As the world goes through difficult times with lots of uncertainties, Salesforce sticks to its promise to keep innovating and reinventing the platform. Traditionally these days Salesforce launches its new release. Say hi to Summer ‘20 Release. I highlight my top 5 favorite admin features.

1. Dynamic forms.

Once in a while Salesforce announces a new feature that puts a smile on every Salesforce Admin, Developer, or user. Dynamics forms is one of them. Imagine a field on a Salesforce page only appearing when certain filter criterias are met… That would be awesome. Well, it's no longer science fiction, as of the Summer ‘20 release you can have fields appear dynamically. Not to forget the ability to can create sub-sections of page layouts, and organize fields wherever you like on a lightning page.

(As a Non-GA Preview feature, Dynamic Forms is a preview and isn’t part of the “Services” under your master subscription agreement with Salesforce. Currently only for custom objects)

2. Dynamics Actions

2 Dynamic features in 1 release setting the trend for more dynamics features to come. For custom objects, you can use the Lightning App Builder instead of the page layout editor to choose which actions appear in the Highlights Panel on the object’s record page. Control visibility for each action based on factors that you specify. Show an action only when it makes senses in your business process

(In beta and only for Custom Objects)

3. Split List Views

When using the default Salesforce navigation, you are all familiar with the standard Listview display option: Table and Kanban. Have you noticed that tasks offer a third one, Split View? Split view offers you the ability to keep your listview with records visible and open while selecting a record from the list. So no more switching back from record to listview. With the Summer ‘20 release, the Split View will be available to all objects.

4. Guiding users through your Sales process from kanban

Talking about listviews. With the Summer ‘20 release, you can guide your users through the sales process right from the kanban view. No more need for them to open the record first the have the key fields and guidance right from the Kanban view

5. Supercharge your Salesforce onboarding and user adoption with Walkthroughs.

Did you know that you can guide your users in Salesforce by using in-app guidance? Show prompts to your users with guidance or instructions on how to interpret or work on a record. Best of all, it’s free. Want that “little” extra? Spice it up with the new “Walkthrough” feature. While standard in-app guidance is limited to 1 prompt per topic, this addon allows you to create a set of prompts instead to guide users step by step through a set of screens.

(additional licenses required, free for MyTrailhead users)
